Feathers

Feathers is the first single in a series of releases from Northern Trails in the spring / summer of 2026. It is an alternative pop ballad in the style of Travis, Keane or R.E.M., but was written largely inspired by the music of indie folk singer-songwriter Gregory Alan Isakov.

Recorded live in the band’s rehearsal studio in Uppsala — with additional tracking in Thomas’ basement — the song captures the fragile excitement of daring to fall in love. Raw, warm and emotionally driven, the song balances intimate vulnerability with the restless feeling of stepping into something new before you know where it might lead.
