In The Dark is the story of a vampire lurking in the shadows, falling in love with a human out of reach in the sun light. On one level that is. On another level it’s about forbidden desire and how we constrain ourselves to keep things in order and to avoid self destruction.

The song started out in the band’s rehearsal space as a track oozing with 70’s rock, some of what made it to the recorded track. Blessed with a slightly more orchestral vibe, In The Dark displays Northern Trails at their most dynamic moment, in the same breath lingering, longing and raging.
